Helping Society Life Connects is committed to saving lives through kidney donation, one patient at a time. We focus on raising awareness about the importance of living kidney donation, particularly for pediatric and adolescent patients. Our organization provides financial support to families and patients undergoing transplants, while offering trusted resources for caregivers navigating kidney disease. We are proud members of the Organ Procurement Transplant Network (OPTN) - https://optn.transplant.hrsa.gov/.
Our Vision
Our vision is a world where no child or adolescent has to wait for a life-saving kidney transplant. We strive to educate the public about living kidney donation, offer comprehensive support to families, and advocate for policies that improve the lives of those affected by kidney disease.
100 Lives, 100 Donors Initiative
100 Lives, 100 Donors is a focused awareness and donor recruitment campaign designed to connect willing adult donors with children in need of kidney transplants. Through educational outreach, digital campaigns, and community partnerships, we aim to identify, educate, and support at least 100 potential donors who are ready to take the life-saving step of donation.
Family Assistance Fund
Our Family Assistance Fund provides grants of up to $1,000 per family to help cover costs not covered by insurance, including travel, food, and essential support during long hospital stays. This critical assistance ensures families can focus on their child's care and access life-saving treatments without additional financial stress.
Life Connects Awareness Series
The Life Connects Awareness Series is a year-round digital and in-person campaign focused on education and action. Through webinars, panel discussions with medical professionals, donor stories, and caregiver resources, we provide clear, trustworthy information while encouraging living kidney donation for pediatric and adolescent patients.
Kidney Champions Program
Kidney Champions is a volunteer-driven advocacy program that trains individuals to become awareness ambassadors. Champions share educational materials, host small group conversations, and spread accurate information about kidney donation within their networks, helping us reach more families and potential donors organically.
